Chasing My Thirties Entry #7

Tuesday April 8th 2025

I'm officially two weeks post op! Only six more to go before I'm fully healed and I am 100% counting down because I'm getting tired of not being able to do everything I want or need to do.

Currently I'm starting to experience pain and muscle spasms in my lower back. Turns out it's something my body is going to experience for a little while as it adjusts to my new normal after going through such a big surgery. It has something to do with my core and not being able to use certain muscles or whatever, from what I can understand. Only two more weeks to go until I see the doctor for my first follow up and I'm hoping by then I'll be able to move around a little more so I can start to feel a little more normal.

Thankfully the night sweats I was experiencing last week was only a temporary issue, but now my new challenge is to get through ovulation for the first time since having surgery. Since my right ovary is gone it shouldn't be as painful but until it finally happens, I'm going to be stressing about it. I know that's not very helpful but it's been painful for so long it's what my body is programmed to expect at this point. I'm supposed to ovulate sometime in the next few days, so this will be an interesting week for sure.

As far as not having a period for the first time goes, I've experienced this before in my younger years when I was on birth control and was able to skip a month whenever I wanted, so I won't be officially excited about not having one until probably next month when the reality sinks in that it's never going to happen again.

In other news. I finally figured out all the kinks to e-commerce so now I can now offer signed copies of my books here on my website! I know it took forever but at least I was finally able to make it happen. As for another huge book win, I was able to figure out why my first book wasn't showing up in Amazon's search results - turns out my book was accidently marked as containing sexually explicit images or title (which it clearly does not) so now that that's been fixed, my book is easier to find 😊

As far as editing goes for book three, I'm working on round two but it's moving a little more slowly than I'd like. I'm trying to give myself some grace after all that's been going on lately, but at the same time I want to get moving so I can move on to my next project. I'll update everyone on that here soon when the time is right.
